I made this painting during lockdown during the COVID pandemic. During COVID, as you remember, we spent so much time inside, staring at the walls. I became very conscious of my interior environment and how the light moved around the room at different times of the day. Because I was home in the mornings (every morning!), I could enjoy the way the light slants in through my window and the shadow the lamp cast on the wall and the paintings hanging there.
